Adoptive mothers jealous?
I am an adoptee myself. Recently I have found parts of my family. Including 1 sister that lives in the US like I do and 1 brother who lives where we were born, Portugal. I have also met a few other adoptees of recent while on my search for my family.
I have found that many of the women adoptees had to deal with adoptive mothers that were jealous of them.Jealous of the attention their adoptive fathers reign on them. I never felt that, though my adoptive mother died when I was young.
Anyone else experience this?
I’m not trying to be rude, but I am really asking adoptee’s this question. If you are an adoptive mother and a good one good for you, but in many cases they aren’t always so good to the children they adopt.
Jealously by the mother of the attention a daughter receives from her father is not limited to adoptive families. It is probably more prevalent in situations where the mother doesn’t feel fully attached to the daughter– which may in some cases be the result of adoption, but isn’t always.
This is the dynamic of an unhealthy family. It MAY be an adoptive family, but it doesn’t have to be.
